Facilities at our Blue Mountains Child Care Centre & Preschool
Located on a beautiful site with large established trees in the heart of the Blue Mountains, Leura Child Care Centre and Preschool is also fortunate to be surrounded by grand residences with gardens cultured for more than a century.
A home away from home
We are restoring one of Leura’s historic school halls into a spacious, uncluttered and homely environment. By keeping the floorboards and the hall’s warm, original authenticity, we have designed the facility to feel like a home away from home. The space is open and filled with light, so your child can view trees and nature from every direction.
We have 3 rooms.
- 0-1 year old room
- 2-3 year room which includes a separate cot and group time room.
- 3-5 year old room which includes a separate literacy group time room.
Our extensive grounds will be a big part of your child’s play and learning environment. Surrounded by large, beautiful trees, your child’s outdoor time in nature will enrich their emotional and physical health and wellbeing. To allow for easy and extensive time outside, extra children’s toilets and craft sink/preparation areas are part of our outdoor environment.
Architect designed for natural play
In the design of Leura Child Care Centre, we have worked very closely with professional early childhood consultant Marie Deverill from Community Child Care Co-operative to carefully design Leura Child Care Centre. With Marie’s help, we have strived to design a centre which supports best practice and high quality early childhood education and care.
Leura Child Care Centre was designed by Annette Pust, originally from Germany. Annette has a strong belief in the power of outside natural play and known for her beautiful natural play spaces. She has recently won the tender to design a nature play space for the community in Berry on the NSW South Coast, which you can read more about here.
Location and parking
The Centre is easily accessible from all directions, especially for those driving from Katoomba or Wentworth Falls to the city. We are quick to reach from the highway, and are within a short walking distance of Leura train station.
You can park in our new eleven space car park on Hartley Parade. Once you drop off your child, you can then use the footbridge adjacent to our Centre to walk your older children to Leura Public Primary School, or take the quick two minute drive back onto the highway. Nice and easy!Enrol or book tour
